Spring artist Chambers Austelle invited us into her adorable home in downtown Charleston to check out where she creates her beautiful paintings.
Chambers paints in her home studio that she shares with her husband, Dobie, and two dogs, Ella and Wilbur.
Even though she shares studio space with Dobie, who is a musician, she often times finds herself painting throughout the house in areas that offer better light.
Chambers does not sign the front of her paintings. Rather, each piece is accompanied by a little note that she signs and types up on this old typewriter.
She draws much of her inspiration from her grandmother, who was also a painter. She has some of her grandmother’s pieces throughout the house, along with her portrait.
Chambers, Dobie, and their two dogs used to sleep in a tent that they had in their bedroom. Recently they upgraded to a king size bed!
